Central Library

The Central library of the University is provided with a rich and varied collection of 114000 books, 190 periodicals and 118 magazines and other holdings enriched primarily on account of the generous support extended by the UGC. The open access facility can be availed by the students from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on all working days and between 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on all holidays. During X plan, the allocation for books has increased from Rs.28 lakhs in IX plan to Rs.42.5 lakhs of which Rs.10 lakhs is earmarked for the library at the PG centre, Kurnool. The library extends photocopying facilities for the benefit of the users. The library consists of a separate section for helping the students to prepare for the competitive examinations at various levels. The library has back volumes on the stacks numbering 13,600. There are further one SC/ST Book Bank and a Competitive Examinations Cell in the library for helping the students to prepare for competitive examinations at various levels. INFLIBNET facility, offering a wide range of services, is also available in the university library. Along with software for University Libraries (SOUL)
Every student is provided with a set of three Cards for borrowingbooks. The books borrowed should be returned within 15 days failing which a fine is imposed. Sri krishnadevaraya University has provided appropriate facilities for promoting academic, intellectual, physical, cultural and overall personality development of the students.
